Candy Dulfer - Candy Store
Candy Store is a wonderful piece of work, which really showcases Candy Dulfer's amazing musical talent. With some help from two of her long time friends, Ulco Bed (Guitarist & Vocalist) & Thomas Bank (Keyboards). Also along for the ride is Chance Howard, a former member of bands led by Prince & Morris Day.
The CD opens with the title track, "Candy Store". A funky groove with Howard doing a little rap to get it started. "LA City Lights" is a provocative slow jam that really proves how beautiful a sax can sound. The next tow songs have a latin flavor. "La Cabana" & "Back To Juan". "La Cabana" is full of rhythm & fire, & is Candy's ode to the Dutch Caribbean Islands. "Summertime" is a fun selection where Candy gets to use her vocal talent & tell a story of her younger days. Candy also exercises her vocals on the last song "Everytime", with a full horn section to compliment her alto sax.
Like a Candy Store, this CD has a large assortment of sweets to choose from, whether your taste is in R&B, ballads, Latin, or Funk. This CD is a must have, the variety & flow of this disc is outstanding! My hat is off, Candy came to play!
