Brian Culbertson - Bringing Back The Funk

Brian Culbertson's
new release "Bringing Back The Funk" funked me up!  This album is, no doubt, is a breath of fresh air. I want to applaud Brian for going out and recording such an excellently produced and arranged album. You can feel the passion that is laid out all across each and every track. The Executive Producer of this project is none other than Maurice White the leader and founder of Earth, Wind & Fire.

1) Funkin' Like My Father

4) The House of Music
(Featuring Larry Graham and Ronnie Laws)
5) You Got To Funkifize
(Featuring Chance Howard)
6) The Groove
7) The World Keeps Going Around
(Featuring Ledisi)
8) Excuse Me...What's Your Name?
9) Voices Inside (Everything is Everything)
(Featuring Eddie Miller and David T. Walker)
10) Let's Stay In Tonight

The sessions were recorded live in the studio, just like they were during the height of funk's popularity, in giving this album a classic old school funk feel. Brian is joined by an all-star cast of guest players including Bootsy Collins, Larry Graham, Gerald Albright, Ronnie Laws plus vocals by Ledisi, Musiq Soulchild and many others. I must warn this is an album that is very difficult to listen straight through cause you find yourself continuing to hit the repeat button after each track. Please put 'purchasing this album' on the top of your to-do list. I assure that you won't be disappointed. I give Brian an A+ for Bringing Back The Funk..........
