Christopher Davis, what's up? Good review, a friend turned me onto this lady recently. She's got potential and hopefully she'll step up game on her next project. On the other hand, Paul Brown is technically good as a producer but he should back off for awhile and maybe the folks in smooth jazz can pursue someone else to produce these new artist. Maybe a new crop of producers can bring out the best without being to influential to their sound of these artist it's about the artist not the producer. Good producers give the musicians leverage to be more expressive, distinctive, and about less radio.

Nevertheless, Jessy J as a horn player is way better then Mindi Abair. Keep up the good work at the Urban Music Scene.

Marv, good review. I've had the pleasure of hearing his previous and bits and pieces of another record by this guy. Frankly, he's fairly decent as a player from what I've heard his music sounds a little canned, in the box so to speak. That's the problem with smooth jazz, it's to radio influenced not enough bite are should I say who the artist is and were he/she trying to take their music other then for airplay. Just my thoughts, on this artist and smooth jazz as a genre.

Regardless to my opinion, I hope his music does well for him.

Brother T, thanks for the review. I really need to pick this up, I already have a couple records by Hil. She's a bad girl, got it going on kind of flavor! She's real, no over production because she can sang. Is it me, or does it seem like the European artist love soul music more then we do here in the states? Again, thanks for this and other reviews and information about black music.

Jazzy, what's up doc? This was a pretty good review. Like you, I dig The Yellowjackets their one of my favorite groups. I'm still a little off center and struggling with Mike Stern playing on this record. He fits well, but honestly I like the Jackets more without add ingredients. Yep, it's all good though because he's simply a good player with a great group of musicians. Keep up the good work.

Wow! What a joy, this lady is young lady is awesome. She's got some serious skills, her vocals and comparable bass playing should attract a relatively wide audience.
